Simon Wright (London, England)
Only Rock 'n' Roll had its genesis in 1975 when a youthful Simon Wright started playing records at his college disco in support of live acts who varied from The Troggs to The Sex Pistols. Over the next thirty years he amassed a collection of 750+ vintage vinyl singles. Recent bookings have included the Shepherds Bush Empire in London where he had the privilege of both DJing at the gig and introducing the Only Ones onstage.
Sideburn Steve Mellor (Manchester, England)
My name is Stephen Mellor and I have been a DJ on and off for 25 years now. For the past 4 years I have helped run our Rock 'n' Roll club based in Denton , Manchester and have been given the name Sideburn Steve, because of my sideburns obviously. I am 46 Years old and in the UK I am a Teddyboy. Many people in Europe will know who and what Teddyboys are, but for the USA... we are a group of people who are into the music of the late 1940's through to very early 1960's. Thanks for reading me. Name here is Raul Saavedra. Thirty years behind the mike now. More prone to Rare R&B, which received high airplay in my home town of Puerto Limón, between the 1960s and 1970s. Some of these tracks have been introduced by myself for the first time to the Tico Central Valley listeners in my nightime oldies show in Super Radio 102.3, the only radio station playing real oldies in Costa Rica.
